I’ve been practicing yoga since: I’ve been practicing yoga off and on since the late 1990s. My first yoga class was at a Waldorf school gymnasium in Massachusetts along side my college roommates and the dean of our school. Since then I’ve taken prenatal yoga classes, Hatha classes and several different versions of Vinyasa before finding Baptiste style Vinyasa. In 2014, due to the persistent encouragement of a friend, I tried my first class at Evolution during Bring a Friend week. While I had a fairly regular practice outdoors at my local farmers market, it was in joining the EPY community that turned me onto the path of deepening my personal practice and sharing yoga with others.

I’ve been teaching since: February 2016

The EPY Community inspires me by: The energy and vitality that is produced when I’m in a class.

I’m passionate about: I am passionate about sharing yoga with others, specifically restorative style yoga.  My wish for my students is for them to learn through the movements and breath work a way to get back into their bodies, to have a tool to help them clear their minds, so that they can go about their days beginning from a place of integrated clarity and ease.

Favorite quote: “Just breathe.”

What it means to be me…  Breath is so important! Breathing is so simple and comes so naturally to us and yet it’s often the first thing to go when we’re stressed or anxious. We forget to breathe slow and steady. But if we can train ourselves, through practice, to maintain a slow steady breath then we can get through any of the challenges that life will inevitably throw at us!

What you should know about meI love to learn new things, to research and read up on the latest information out there, specifically around things like: how the body works, human relationships, childhood development, which foods are the best to eat for this reason or for that, holistic living and connection with a capital “C”. I have 4 cats, 7 chickens, 2 amazing teenage children and a loving supportive husband of nearly 20 years.
