A Yoga Teacher Training is an investment of both time and money. And there are a lot of training programs to choose from out there, so how do you decide which one is right for you?
This program came at a perfect time in my life. I moved to Harrisburg at the end of 2018 after graduating from college with my first full-time job in a brand new city. Fast forward a year later: I decided to leave my job in search of a career that fuels my passions and fulfills me 100%.
I quickly realized that I didn’t know what that would be, and a wave of self-doubt and discouragement poured over me. It was then that EPY Harrisburg’s 40 Days leader Jackie Brow explained how the program could help me understand and work through this roadblock so early on in my career.
The ACCESS program gave me all tools to begin approaching life more intentionally and without unnecessary “stuff” like misperceived beliefs about ourselves. I watched my group break down these barriers in themselves together.
For as long as we can remember, we’ve always been told how important regular physical activity is to our overall health and wellbeing. Throughout grade school and college, getting in a workout at least 3 times a week may have been easy, especially if you were involved in athletics.
And then life happened.
Session 5 provided it’s peak challenges thus far in the program, with rewarding feelings of doing the work and seeing the transformation happen. This training has done so much more than teach me how to lead a yoga class. It’s provided work for me to do, not just on the outside, but within as well.
I acknowledge that I have to do the work, no one else is going to get through these 250-hours for me. Completing this program is something I really want. The drive I have to see this program through to the end has motivated me to find access to tools that will help me with time managing my work/ study/ life balance.
We got to talking with one of our York Instructors, Sarah, and her husband, Francisco, to learn a little bit about their lives off the mat and outside of the studio.
I feel very empowered by the ACCESS training group and the friends I am making in my training. I can share things without feeling judged and it really is a safe space where everyone is very supportive
