200-RYT, 300-RYT, Budokon Yoga Certified; Blue Belt
ACCESS 250-Hour Teacher Training Leader
As a newcomer to the East Coast in 2009 with no hobbies or activities, a family member persuaded Meg to try out a yoga class and they quickly fell in love with the practice. In 2011 they enrolled in their first 200-Hour Teacher Training and began teaching for the studio upon graduation. In 2020, Meg enrolled in the EMPOWER 300-Hour Teacher Training Program to earn their 500-RYT certification.
What made you take the ACCESS 250-Hour Training Program?
The classes and the community at Evolution Power Yoga had such an incredible impact on me and I wanted to be able to give other people the same opportunity to come into themselves and express themselves.
What made you take the EMPOWER 300-Hour program?
I was stuck in a rut of automatic teaching and going through my life on autopilot. I had the tools to get myself out of the situation but couldn’t seem to implement them in a sustainable way to make a permanent change. Empower gave me the opportunity to strip everything away again and look at things from a new perspective, it woke me up and breathed life back into me.
What do you love most about teaching?
Being given the opportunity to hold space for other humans to become who they truly are.
Why did you want to be a leader of the ACCESS 250-Hour program?
I wanted to have a greater impact on the community and EPY as a whole by leading the leaders. By being in contribution to others through this method of yoga. It just works. I want to help as many people as possible to discover that this just works.
How has yoga/your training impacted your life?
Yoga saved my life. Nothing short of that. I was depressed, anxious, and lonely. I was afraid of everything and sure of nothing. It redirected me back on the path I was meant to walk and showed me that I have much more power, strength, and courage than I was giving myself credit for. I went from working random office jobs to full-time teaching in all three Evolution studios and creating content for our virtual community. I get to do what I’m passionate about for a living. It has transformed the way I communicate and relate to others in my life; giving me the space I need to truly listen, to connect, and to make space for myself and others when needed. It gave me the freedom to experience true and full relationships and what it means to be human.
