My personal experience with the quarantine has been full of ups and downs, and I’m sure most of you can relate. But instead of focusing on the lost jobs, solitude, boredom, and other negative aspects of the quarantine, I’m dedicated to finding the positives.
I challenged myself in new ways during the last half of 40 Days, and the tools I learned for my practice and for myself are tactics I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. Keep reading to learn more!
This program came at a perfect time in my life. I moved to Harrisburg at the end of 2018 after graduating from college with my first full-time job in a brand new city. Fast forward a year later: I decided to leave my job in search of a career that fuels my passions and fulfills me 100%.
I quickly realized that I didn’t know what that would be, and a wave of self-doubt and discouragement poured over me. It was then that EPY Harrisburg’s 40 Days leader Jackie Brow explained how the program could help me understand and work through this roadblock so early on in my career.
The ACCESS program gave me all tools to begin approaching life more intentionally and without unnecessary “stuff” like misperceived beliefs about ourselves. I watched my group break down these barriers in themselves together.

For as long as we can remember, we’ve always been told how important regular physical activity is to our overall health and wellbeing. Throughout grade school and college, getting in a workout at least 3 times a week may have been easy, especially if you were involved in athletics.
And then life happened.
With the greatest trepidation, I attended my first class in front of a wall of windows and found out that I loved it.
Don’t you ever wonder what goes through your yoga teacher’s mind, or your fellow yogis, during your practice? We’ve compiled a list of common Q&A’s to answer those burning questions.
We were given some time to discuss preparations for the Gala Fundraiser, which we had this past weekend, thanks to all the hard work from the ACCESS group, it ended up being a blast and we raised a lot of money for AIM to Empower (the total raised is still being counted, because donations are still rolling in)!
Session 5 provided it’s peak challenges thus far in the program, with rewarding feelings of doing the work and seeing the transformation happen. This training has done so much more than teach me how to lead a yoga class. It’s provided work for me to do, not just on the outside, but within as well.
