“I was really tired of being sick and tired,” Joni explains of why she first decided to make yoga a more significant part of her life. “I wanted something more for my life.” After practicing for over a decade, she was at last ready to begin assisting and teaching in 2011 and share with others what yoga had done for her.
“I love the whole mind, body, and spirit connection,” she says of her yoga practice. “I love that my thoughts, gestures, and being has inspired others around me. I love the rippling effect of sending positivity out, and how it radiates back to you.”
With this idea in mind, Joni brings a powerful, yet balanced energy to her classes that allows her to make a compassionate connection with her students. “I enjoy the dance of energy with each person in class as they flow, and the oneness in assisting,” she says. “I love helping to open each student up to reaching their fullest potential.”
In her own practice, Joni has learned to step out of her own way to realize her own potential. It’s a lesson she’s taken with her in and out of the yoga studio. “Once I did this, it opened up my world to a divine inspiration and wonderful possibilities,” she explains. “I hope to inspire others to drop what’s holding them back and to be open to the great possibility that exists when they let go.”
