I’ve been teaching since: May 2016
I am inspired as a member of the Evolution Community by: I am inspired by the welcoming of teachers, and the energy of EPY students. From the moment you walk into the studio, you are greeted by a team of teachers, karmi, studio manager, and often the owners, Lisa and Julie. The staff are a dedicated team focused on providing a safe environment to practice yoga. All team members are encouraged to continue their education by various training opportunities in the yoga community.
I am passionate about: Living a balanced life, mentally and physically, through healthy living.
A Favorite Quote: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” Reinhold Neibuhr
What it means to me: To stay in the present moment. Don’t worry about things that haven’t happened yet, and let go of things that have happened already. The past cannot be changed, so let that go. The future hasn’t happened yet, so the one thing I may choose to worry about, probably won’t happen.
What you should know about me: I started my yoga practice at Evolution in Lancaster in 2009. Before coming to Evolution, I practiced Bikram yoga for 10 years. I met and married my husband in Chicago. We moved the Lancaster in 1981. We have five grown children, and five grandchildren.
I have been a nurse for 42 years, working in critical care settings, the operating room, and most recently I was the Stroke Program Coordinator for Lancaster General Health. My children have settled across the country, from California to Rhode Island. If I’m not in Lancaster, I am visiting our children. This provides an opportunity for me to practice at a variety of Baptiste Yoga Studios. When I am not in the yoga studio teaching or practicing, you can find me running or playing golf.
