Michelle Newman
Michelle Newman is originally from Pensacola, Florida and has been a Massage Therapist since 1999. She is also a Physical Therapist Assistant, Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner, and has studied yoga through Baptiste Power Yoga and ChildLight Yoga for kids. Michelle believes that yoga is a great tool for increasing body awareness, self-awareness, strength and flexibility of body and mind, and overall harmony and balance. Her goal through teaching yoga is to promote the powerful connection between mind and body and to encourage others to listen to their bodies so that they may achieve wholeness.
“I believe that our bodies communicate to us in a very clear and direct way, and if we choose to listen, we can achieve great levels of self-awareness,” Michelle says. “I have realized that through the power of touch, a natural state of balance and a great deal of healing can occur.”
To ensure the best experience for her clients, Michelle believes that approaching the body with a quiet awareness allows her to listen to the needs of each individual. With an open mind and heart, she is able to incorporate the best techniques for each and every client.
“I approach my work with a sensitivity and thoughtfulness that allow me to provide bodywork with great care and compassion,” she explains. “I enjoy connecting with others through silence once the recipient is fully relaxed—the point at which there is no judgment. I find great satisfaction once my intuition takes over, enabling me to listen to the needs of the body on the massage table.”
Michelle is also a strong proponent of living the lifestyle she advocates for her clients. Through yoga, running, and healthy eating, Michelle feels she can be at her best for helping others.
“Whole health and total wellness are my upmost priorities, and I try my best to live life accordingly,” she says. “The better care I give myself, the better I am to take care of others. I like to emphasize the importance of bodywork, nutrition, and movement and how these things are directly connected in creating total health and wellness.”
