Marcy T. Diem
Birthday: March 2
Zodiac: Pisces
Favorite Asana: Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (Half-Pigeon)
Marcy has been a fitness instructor for over 25 years, with experience teaching group aerobics, cycling, and other exercise classes. “I have always been passionate about being fit, healthy, and strong,” she says. Though she has focused on a variety of fitness routines in her own life, Marcy has always had a soft spot for yoga.
“Even with my limited attempts at practicing yoga in the past, I always loved the way I felt afterwards,” she says. “It gave me a sense of stillness and peace that I never found in any other form of exercise or fitness. It took me beyond the physical plane and into a space for personal growth, expression, and a connection to something bigger than myself.”
When she learned about the 200-Hour Teacher Training at EPY, Marcy felt the drawn to the opportunity. “I approached it as part of my path to healing, self-discovery, and personal growth,” she explains. “I felt it was just a natural extension of myself to share the benefits of yoga with as many people as possible.”
Marcy now enjoys being a part of the EPY community and living the lessons she learned during the 200-hour training. “I have found that the language we use about ourselves and others has a profound effect on the way we treat people,” she says. “By changing our words, we can change our way of being and enter into a world where all possibilities are available to us.”

A Note From Marcy T. Diem
“I love yoga because it has taught me the meaning of being authentic. There is no one but you on that mat, and it opens the door to all the nooks and crannies that hide within. It has taught me to release judgment, expectations, and fear, and that when those issues occur, it is ok to acknowledge and then release them. Yoga has given me the perspective that every moment is new and a chance to change, grow, and evolve.”
